Drink less support in Slough
Cutting down or stopping drinking is usually just the beginning, and most people will need some degree of help or a long-term plan to stay in control or completely alcohol-free.
Getting the right support can be crucial to maintaining control in the future. Only relying on family, friends or carers for this often is not enough.

Success Stories

Running has been so good at maintaining my stamina and physical/mental health and being out in the fresh air is a definite plus. The countryside and areas that you run become place you notice and enjoy, so when you discover something this good the benefits need to be shared.

“I was really scared about being tested for HIV, I didn’t know what to expect. But I needn’t have worried, the test was a simple finger prick test and the result was available in 1 minute. Testing is really discreet, theres no waiting room, when you arrive for your appointment you’re seen straight away – the service is quick, discreet and non-invasive. And I had the option of a 3 month supply of free condoms. I just wish I hadn’t put off knowing my HIV status for so long.”
John, a user of Thames Valley Positive Support

I joined Eat4Health because I needed to lose weight and needed support to do so. I have tried other weight loss programmes in the past which would normally begin well but they never really taught me to change and do exercise they just told me what to eat and what not to eat but not why. I eat more fruit and vegetables and am more aware of my calorie intake and the need for physical activity. My blood pressure has lowered along with my BMI. I would recommend this service to others to make changes for life not just a few months.

This has had an impact on my son’s learning, but also on his behaviour as well as he does not get frustrated all the time. I have also realised the food we ate did not help as we had takeaway on most nights, but now I cook fresh meals which has had health benefits for both me and my child as we are starting to lose weight.
